The Core Beliefs of the Church

God as the Creator of All Things

God is the Creator of all things. He is the one true and living God who exists eternally. Everything exists through Him and was created for Him. God is sovereign, omnipotent, omniscient, and not bound by space or time. He is personal and possesses moral attributes such as holiness, justice, love, faithfulness, and righteousness. Though God is one, He exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. Together, they are one God.

God created humanity in His image, both male and female, to glorify Him and to steward the earth on His behalf. However, the first humans sinned by disobeying God, resulting in judgment and separation from Him. Consequently, all their descendants fell under the power of sin and Satan, facing the penalty of the second death in the lake of fire. Humanity, in its fallen state, is marred from being in God’s image and unable to restore a relationship with Him on its own.

Jesus Christ: God Who Became Man

Jesus Christ is God who became man. He was conceived supernaturally by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was without sin. He died on the cross to atone for the sins of humanity and rose from the dead on the third day to save all who believe in Him from the judgment of sin after death and the power of sin and Satan in this life.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.” (Romans 3:23-25)

Jesus is the only way for humanity to be reconciled to God and to restore a relationship with Him. He ascended bodily into heaven, and one day, He will return to judge the world.

The Holy Spirit as God

The Holy Spirit is God who convicts people of sin and regenerates them, dwelling in every believer to enable a holy and righteous life from within. The Holy Spirit is a person, a helper for the Christian life.

Jesus grants believers the experience of being baptized in the Holy Spirit, distinct from regeneration. According to Scripture, this baptism is often accompanied by the manifestation of speaking in spiritual languages or other tongues. The Holy Spirit gives different gifts to each believer to fulfill their role in building the church. A Christian life must be guided by the Holy Spirit, bearing His fruit and demonstrating His power over the works of the flesh.

The Bible

The Church believes in the inspiration of every word of the Old and New Testaments, written under the guidance of God without error. The Bible is the Word of God, the ultimate authority for the Church’s theology and beliefs. It serves as the foundation for truth and principles for living a Christian life.

A Christian life cannot be sustained without the Bible, which nourishes the soul through reading and obedience, much like spiritual food.

The Church: A Community of Believers

The universal Church comprises all who trust in Christ throughout all ages and across the world. The local church consists of believers in a specific area who gather together to worship God, grow spiritually through His Word, fellowship, prayer, and service. It reflects the reality of God’s kingdom.

Jesus established the Church to manifest God’s purposes. The Church’s goal is to help all members grow into spiritual maturity as children of God.

Worship

Christians are called to worship God in spirit and truth. Worship involves living a life transformed by God and aligning with His will. It also refers to expressing reverence and value to God in various ways recorded in Scripture, such as singing, clapping, and playing musical instruments. Worship brings our spirit into God’s presence to offer Him praise and adoration.
